I have seen some pictures of'cloud ocean'taken on Lantau Peak in a book.It is incredible that it could be found in HK.I just want to go there to have a look.Do you know when is the best period to watch "cloud ocean"?I wonder if it is the best period right now, as l see many clouds stay low in elevation. I have once been to a cloud-covered hilltop in spring, but the visibility was less than 20 m and l saw nothing but the solid white fog surrounds me. Moreover, is it possible to see "cloud ocean" on Tai Mo Shan? Lantau Peak is a bit too far from my home.

Hi Richard,

Seeing cloud ocean depends solely on luck. In my opinion, winter time would be relatively good time to hunt for cloud ocean in Lantau Peak. I have been there many many time, 95% of it was either fog-flooded or cloudless.

Tai Mo Shan? It is always covered by thick fog. I don't think it is a good place to look for cloud ocean.

Good Luck,
