Is it a good hiking place for a beginner? I want to organize a trip for our colleagues in my company as part of their annual activity. But I heard that there are accidents there. My colleagues don't exercise much though. What are your suggestions?

There is huge water in the Tai Shing Stream during summer. There is potental danger. I suggest you take some easy country park trails instead. Safety is the most important thing.

BTW, We are happy to bring different people from all walks for hiking. But since this is your company' s activity, it is not appropriate for us to join your trip.

The past accident was due to sudden increase in water flow after rainstorm, and sweeping away several people along the stream. In summer this is a real danger because of the large catchment of this stream, and also because Tai Mo Shan usually get the largest share of rainfall in HK.

Technically the hiking of this stream is comparatively less dangerous or demanding when compared with many local stream, but this is still more difficult and very different from hiking in established paths.

So if the intended visitors are not used to exercise or hiking, it will be more suitable to go for some hiking trails, for example Tai To Yan that already demand considerable stamina.

Unless your team contains people familiar with stream walk, you are better not to bring people there. Tai Shing Stream is an easy stream for some people, but it can be challenging and risky for the unprepared one.

The water flow should not be very strong at this season.
