Will be coming to HK tomorrow and just discovered your website. Interested in doing things like this but we have a 5-year old girl with us. Is it possible?

Hi, Sharon,

How long will you stay in HK?
Have you done hiking in HK before?
If you want to do simple hike (together with your 5 yr old kid), many of the routes mentioned in our webpage would not be suitable.

Please state what you want. And see whether we can give you some suggestions.

hello, me and my girlfriend will be moving from taiwan to hong kong at the beginning of september. i'm looking to enter the Action Asia Challenge in dec. queries:

1. where to train? best places to run, hike, bicycle, climb, etc, etc.
2. races? any good websites/assoc.s with details of races before. i've heard of the macau marathon on dec 2, any others?
3. kayaking? keen to give it a go, but completely fresh to this discipline (other than a brief muck about in the pacific off taiwan). where do i go?
4. river-tracing? another discipline that i've toyed with before but i'd love to try seriously.

any help? i appreciate anything you've got to give as i'm coming pretty much blind to hong kong and i've got alot of learning to do before i land.
also if you have any pointers as to where someone with not a lot of money could live in hong kong then write on.

cheers

matthew

Matthew, I guess that you can read Chinese characters. You can go to the website of http://hiking.com.hk and find the links there. Look for the "recommendation" at left upper region of the front page. If you clicked it, you can go to a page with a vast number of local hiking website links.

Concerning the Actionasia race, I wonder if you could find information on the actionasia.com website itself.

Personally, I think Lantau Island and Sai Kung are good places for adventure activities (good views, fresh air and really natural)
