l have been to one-line fall in Qiu Feng Stream recently. To my suprise, there is a dam built not far in front of the fall. The only way is to climb down the dam ,with half of your body drowned into the water.l am totally not prepared for this.Should your website mention this dam? l really have no idea of this until l have got there.

There should be a steel ladder (built by Water Supplies Dept) at the left side of the dam (when looking upstream). Last time when I went there, it is possible to climb down that ladder, skirt around the rock face at the left side. Otherwise one may need to wade your way through, but the water depth is still only about 2 feet. I don't know if the water level has raised recently.

HI Student R,

I have visited Qiu Feng many times during summer, I've never get my feet wet at the dam.

What Ron has suggested is entirely correct. As long as the water level is not too high, one can lean towards the left rock wall to by-pass the pond. Of course, if the water level is too high, it will become pretty tricky.

Well, the difficulty of stream hiking is highly affected by water level which varies from time to time.

We'll add some description about the dam, it an good idea tough.

Thanks,

Adventure is a taste of exploration. I think: If one knew every single step or detail for the route, there might not be any fun.

"Problem solving" is always needed during stream trekking. Try to sort out the solution when challenge comes in front of you. There is no fixed rule as condition may change from time to time. You can learn the way of not getting wet as time goes by.

Nevertheless, "Get wet" is not a serious problem. The most important thing is to keep yourself safe at any time.
